Basic teaching of classical wrestling

This article mainly explains the control connection of the four positions of grabbing, holding, holding and hugging. It does not involve the handling of wrestling after control. Although I will sort out some common scoring methods of classical wrestling in the future, the author still requires (not hopes) that everyone can go to a regular venue to train under the guidance of a coach to minimize the probability of injury.

Grab

This is easy to understand. After two people fight, the first reaction is usually to grab the wrist. This is also the simplest and most direct control. It can restrict the opponent’s actions and facilitate the connection of the following actions.

00:16

Take the arm

Use both hands to control one of the opponent’s arms at the same time, and use both hands to exert force in the forward and reverse directions like twisting a towel, fix the opponent’s elbow joint in front of your chest, and straighten your chest to lock the arm towards yourself.

You can grab the arm directly or change the grab handle to grab the arm.

00:14

When grabbing the opponent’s arm, your body should be close to the opponent, and when turning sideways, one foot should be placed behind the opponent’s feet.

The person whose arm is being held should lower his body and push the other person away (the action in the video is pretty clean, pushing the chin is fine)

By the way, in the video below, the person holding the arm did not block my legs with his legs, which is a typical negative example .

Holding arms and hugging

Arm grabbing is usually connected with hugging, which also requires close control. The hand grabbing the wrist does not move, and the other hand passes through the opponent’s armpit to lift the opponent’s center.

00:06

The purpose of holding is to hug, and raising the opponent’s center of gravity is also to make you closer to the opponent, making it easier for you to attack while preventing the opponent from escaping.

Hold

The hold is the final step of Greco-Roman wrestling control and must be handled to score once the hold is successfully established.

You don’t have to hold the other person in your hands to hug him/her. You can use grasping, holding and hugging together, but the success rate is grasping < holding < holding.

Ok, I can upload a maximum of ten videos in one article, so that’s all I’ll say today. I’ll put the remaining videos in my personal thoughts, and the following articles will mainly write about some crazy, cool and awesome wrestling techniques (ok, the common wrestling techniques). Friends who are interested, please pay more attention.
