02. English expression of player position:

1) GK (goalkeeper / goalie)

The main purpose of the goalkeeper is to prevent the opposing team from scoring a goal. He is confined to a rectangular penalty area 18 yards from the goal and is the only player in football who is allowed to block the ball with his hands.

2) ST (striker) / CF (center forward)

The main task is to attack, break through the opponent’s defense, and try to score a goal. The most clever, dangerous, and strong player in the game. The striker is basically the main goal scorer in the game.

3) Midfielders

They are the link between defenders and attackers. They need to be fitter and stronger than other players on the pitch because they are the ones who run the most throughout the game. Their job is to get into the opposing team’s area. Midfielders are divided into: CAM (central attacking midfielder) attacking midfielder , front waist, responsible for organizing the attack, creating opportunities for the striker, or attacking the goal himself; CDM (central defending midfielder) defensive midfielder, responsible for blocking the opponent’s attack in the midfield, and then passing the ball to teammates to launch an attack.

4) CB (center back)

They are deployed in the middle of the field, responsible for preventing the opposing players from launching attacks and blocking the opposing players from entering their own penalty area when they have possession of the ball.

5) WB (wing back) / LB&RB

A (left/right) fullback is a player who defends on both sides of the pitch. Their main task is to prevent the opponent from passing the ball from the sideline into the penalty area. In some defensive systems, they are also responsible for marking.
