Three reasons to tell you why you should practice boxing?
Boxing, is it violent?
How many people would naturally associate the word “violence” with the word “boxing”?
I think this is probably the biggest misunderstanding about it.
01. Boxing ≠ violence
Violence is only the appearance of boxing. “People love violence, so they like to watch boxing and like to join in the fun at car accident scenes. But no one really understands it. The essence of boxing is to maintain dignity and deprive the opponent of dignity.”
According to a ranking of the “most dangerous sports” by a British research organization, football is actually the most dangerous sport, and 20% of people will suffer minor sports injuries when playing football.
For rugby, which involves impact movements, the injury rate is only one-fourth of that of football.
It is undeniable that boxing is very confrontational, but the injury rates of football and basketball are actually much higher than it.
It is much less dangerous than you might think. To an outsider, boxing seems to be just a simple sport with two fists, but in fact it contains too many mysteries.
It is a sport that combines lightness, agility, cleverness, strength, speed and courage. Perhaps only those who have really experienced it can understand the charm.
02. Boxing is more than just punching
“Will must be stronger than skills” – Boxing champion Muhammad Ali. There was once such a news that shocked the entire boxing world.
A delivery boy from Chongqing became China’s first WBA bantamweight youth boxing champion with the money he earned for his living expenses and tuition fees.
“Once I’m on the boxing ring, I’m the champion! In life, I’m just a boxer and a delivery rider.” said Zhang Fangyong, winner of the WBA Chinese Bantamweight Youth Boxing Championship.
He is a gold-belt boxing champion who delivers takeout on the streets. He is a professional boxer who started from scratch.
In the early days of pursuing his dream, Zhang Fangyong supported his boxing dream with the meager salary of delivering takeouts. He delivered an average of more than 45 orders a day, and at one point he set a record of 69 orders a day.
On July 1, 2017, Zhang Fangyong defeated his opponent and won the WBA (World Boxing Association) Chinese Bantamweight Youth Gold Belt. This was his first gold belt in his life, and he became famous in one battle, just like Kimura Sho once did.
It is not just a sport of swinging fists, but a sport that cultivates strong willpower, fearless physique, extraordinary courage, and an attitude of fighting for life!
03. Boxing has infinite charm
You don’t need a pair of gloves, you need to truly change yourself.
Challenging
As one of the most difficult sports in all competitive sports, it places very high demands on the physical and mental state of athletes. Explosive power, endurance, and reaction are all indispensable.
However, it is the easiest sport to learn. Boxing is different from taekwondo. It emphasizes keeping the lower body stable before punching, while the latter requires students to support their kicks on one leg, which naturally increases the difficulty level by several levels.
Don’t underestimate the standard three-minute round in match. If you put your heart and soul into it, it may be the longest three minutes of your life.
Improve self-confidence and enhance temperament
Imagine, when you are facing a tall and burly opponent, who is rubbing his fists and eager to knock you down, how can you hold your own line? You know, 99% of people do not have the courage and confidence to face an opponent who is stronger than themselves.
But when you overcome your fear and face your cowardice, it is often the time of nirvana and rebirth. You will experience the changes that brings to you, not only in the boxing ring, but also invisibly change your attitude, confidence and view of life. The change of the mind brings about the improvement of external temperament.
Strengthen your body to create a perfect body
If you observe those professional boxers carefully, you will find that none of them does not have strong body lines and clear contours.
It is different from any other kind of sports. It exercises every muscle in your body and maximizes every bodily function.
After a boxing session, it is not impossible to lose 3 pounds. This is why it can help you get into the best shape faster than any other sport.
